CHENNAI: The Chennai leader metropolitan magistrate on Wednesday granted bail to comedian-turned-politician S Ve Shekher, two months after the latter shared a controversial Facebook post degrading lady journalists.
On April 19, Shekher shared a post uploaded via his Facebook buddy, Thirumalai Sa. It used to be within the context of Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit patting a woman journalist on her cheek all through a press meet in Raj Bhavan.
When he used to be trolled via netizens for sharing the post concentrated on lady journalists, Shekher deleted it and later tendered an apology.
However, in keeping with a grievance filed via journalists, cybercrime police registered legal case against the BJP spokesperson below sections 504, 505 (1) (c) of the IPC and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment (Prevention) Act.
