CPI rules out need for common leader against PM Modi in 2019 polls

COIMBATORE: Ruling out the desire for a common chief to be projected against Prime Minister Narendra Modi within the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the CPI called for secular and democratic parties to enroll in palms to defeat the BJP.

CPI common secretary S Sudhakar Reddy informed newshounds in Coimbatore on Tuesday at the sidelines of the celebration state committee assembly that his celebration does not glance as much as Congress president Rahul Gandhi for management. “We don’t need Rahul Gandhi’s management for us (CPI),’’ he stated to a selected query if he noticed an inspiring management in Rahul to lead the fight against Modi in 2019 election. “It isn't the chief that brings change within the country. It’s the insurance policies that can deliver change,’’ Reddy stated.

However, he hinted that CPI would align with the Congress to oust the BJP. “The Congress and its chief Rahul have a task. We will fight independently and together also,’’ he stated. Reddy added that they are going to be sure that there used to be no contest between themselves. Terming the BJP rule as a disaster for the rustic, Reddy stated secular, democratic and Left parties would defeat BJP within the elections.


When asked in the event that they don’t need a common chief to challenge against Modi, Reddy stated that there are sufficient examples from the past where elections where fought according to insurance policies slightly than individuals. “Earlier when the United Front used to be formed there used to be no chief projected as top ministerial candidate. But post-election a brand new chief emerged,’’ he stated.


Who would have thought Deve Gowda would turn out to be the Prime Minister, he asked, including that I Ok Gujral and Chandrasekar also emerged as PMs post-elections.


Reddy took potshots at Congress blaming the celebration’s regime for emergence of BJP and reiterated that for CPI the chief used to be immaterial whilst it used to be the insurance policies that they bring mattered. “Our coverage is secular, democratic and Left solidarity, to shield constitution, democracy and multi-culturalism,’’ he stated.
