BENGALURU: In not up to per week of a full-fledged ministry being put in place, the fault strains in the coalition govt in the state are already showing. Twenty-five superintendent engineers, who have been promoted by the public works department and posted to the irrigation department, are in limbo as their new department is refusing to take them in.
The buzz in authentic circles means that the stalemate is connected to the fact that the two departments are headed by two males — PWD minister H D Revanna and irrigation minister D Okay Shivakumar — who cannot see eye to eye on maximum issues.
The promotions and transfers of engineers have been reportedly effected by leader minister H D Kumaraswamy at the instance of his elder brother Revanna and Shivakumar is claimed to be miffed as he wasn’t consulted. Irrigation department officials say they have got gained instructions from Shivakumar not to permit the engineers to take rate till his say so.
“The minister was once visibly disenchanted and claimed he was once not taken into self belief,” stated a senior authentic. “Now, it's as much as the executive minister to intervene and get Shivakumar and Revanna to type this out.”
While Shivakumar was once not available for comment, Revanna informed reporters that he had no function to play in the problem. “The promotions and postings have been accomplished by the executive minister’s administrative center as it's the CM’s prerogative. I simply cleared it as a part of process,” stated Revanna.
On May 31, per week after Kumaraswamy took rate, the government promoted 51 superintendent engineers as leader engineers.
