MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate for the first time has mentioned that NCP leader and former deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal used tainted cash to buy a assets in his title. In its supplementary chargehseet, filed towards Bhujbal, ED has mentioned that it has attached 16 new homes value Rs 15 crore received via Bhujbal, his members of the family and associated firms. Of these homes, a plot of land was purchased via Bhujbal, ED mentioned.
It also mentioned that Bhujbal purchased a plot of land from the money that he gained from Armstrong Energy, the corporate managed via his son Pankaj and nephew Sameer. It was alleged that Bhujbal gained kickback within the Maharashtra Sadan rip-off thru Armstrong Energy and Parvesh Construction, promoted via Pankaj and Sameer. ED had attached homes value Rs 178 crore on this case.
The special court heard the case on Wednesday, where Bhujbal and Sameer were present within the court at the side of different accused within the case. The court has adjourned the listening to to August 6. The attached homes also incorporated 7 stores and three flats in Saikunj construction at Dadar (east) which was purchased via Bhujbal associates and corporations managed via them.
Two flats within the construction were purchased via the corporate related to Bhujbal circle of relatives and later their tenancy rights were given to Bhujbal’s wife Meena and his daughter-in-law thru a registered agreement. There are plots of land in Nashik district purchased on title of businesses related to Bhujbal circle of relatives.
The ED had probed round 16 firms where Bhujbal members of the family held positions as directors, and zeroed in on two— Armstrong Energy and Parvesh Construction — after finding that several fictitious firms had invested in them via purchasing their shares at a very top top class.
Every share with a face price of Rs 100 have been bought for as top as Rs 10,000.
