Sector 60 intersection to open after July 15, metro work nearing end

NOIDA: Commuters using the increased road to get to Mamura, Crossings Republik and Greater Noida (west) should wait for greater than a fortnight for the intersection at Sector 60 to be opened.

According to the Delhi Metro, which is developing a metal girder between the upcoming Sector 59 and 61 metro stations, work is expected to be completed by means of July 15, with the intersection opening to the public sooner than July 20.

Ajay Sharma, chief challenge supervisor for the extension of the Blue Line from City Centre to Electronics City, informed TOI that the metal girder will cover a 60 metre span.

“By June 30, the erection of the girder can be completed,” he mentioned.

Thereafter, the deck slabs can be deployed and the phase of the increased metro hall completed.

However, the visitors police, which was caught unaware when the metro contractor had impulsively closed the intersection on June 2, mentioned there was no written communication about the closing date for the work from DMRC.

SP (visitors) Anil Jha informed TOI that even though there was no written closing date for the of completion of the work, a verbal communication from DMRC has mentioned that the work will get over July 15.

“The diversion will continue as sooner than. We hope that DMRC will tell us sooner than they open the intersection as boards and limitations need to be removed. There is a large number of visitors power at the Sector 71 intersection on account of the closure of this intersection,” he added.


Vehicles coming down the increased road and from Gijhore Chowk and water tank, and many others and transferring against Sector 67 intersection is lately being diverted to Vishwakarma Marg just sooner than the intersection. These commuters must take a U-turn from close to Mamura and shuttle at the different carriageway of the Marg to continue against their destination.


Similarly, those travelling from the Sector 67 intersection against the increased road, Sector 62 and NH-24 take a left turn close to the Sector 71 police chowki from the place they continue against their destinations by means of the Sai mandir road.


Those travelling from the Sector 67 against City Centre and Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera road are taking a left turn sooner than the intersection to shuttle against their destination by means of the Balak Nath T-point.
