Eid is like cherry on top of Ramzan blessing

MUMBAI: The pageant of Eid ul' Fitr is a reward like no different. It comes as the cherry on most sensible to any other giant blessing, the month-long fast of Ramzan. After the self-control of five daily salaat, morning suhoor, day-long prayer, dusk iftar and nocturnal Taraweeh namaz, the Muslim ummah (community) will have a good time its biggest pageant of Ramzan Eid on the first day of the brand new month of Shawwal Saturday.
Following the sunnat (tradition) of Prophet Mohammed, men will be sure you put on itr (fragrance) to beef up their new garments and classy caps after they arrive for Eid namaz at Eidgahs and mosques around 7.30-Eight.00am.

Each worshipper can pay the Fitra charity, normally 1.75 kg of wheat or 3.5 kg raisins or dates or barley, ahead of namaz. "Fitra has a dual purpose, it cleanses any mistakes that may have been committed during the roza observance and other rituals, apart from ensuring that the poor are able to celebrate Eid as well," says Maulana Akram of Andheri Muslim Qabrastan Masjid at Four Bungalows.

Yet the day inspires combined emotions, for at the same time as folks have a good time Eid they've bid farewell to the honoured visitor personified as Ramzan.

"Ramzan is a welcome guest who brings us gifts like roza, the Taraweeh prayer, E'tikaaf seclusion and Fitra charity. Like a labourer toils for a month, then cleans himself and wears good clothes to come and humbly seek his wages from his master, we too fast and pray, wash ourselves and wear new clothes and then come to seek our reward from Allah Almighty at Eid ul' Fitr," says Mufti Salim of the Four Bungalows mosque. "This is a day when all Muslims must express happiness."

Senior mufti from Hyderabad, Maulana Sadiq Mohiuddin, makes a pertinent level. "Ramzan teaches us that if we can abstain from halal (permitted) pleasures during this month, surely we can avoid all that is haraam (disallowed) through the year," he says.

This 12 months, given the controversy over the sighting of the moon at the start of Ramzan, ulema and rozedars alike are calling for a unified Hilal Committee national with the slogan 'One Nation One Ramzan One Eid'. Large parts of India started the fast May 17 and noticed 30 rozas whilst Mumbai and a few towns where Ramzan started a day later, gained simplest 29 rozas.
