BURDWAN: A French physician, touring India with a friend, was once molested on a educate on Sunday night while travelling from Jamalpur in Bihar to Howrah.
The 29-year-old woman from Pouancé in western France and her male good friend had boarded a non-AC sleeper trainer of the Jamalpur-Howrah Express at 7.30pm on Sunday on an unreserved common price ticket.
According to the police, the incident happened around 11.30pm while the educate was once coming near Pakur station close to Bengal-Jharkhand border. One of the passengers, recognized as 31-year-old Md Arshad Hussain, noticed the French woman and her good friend sitting close to the trainer door and offered her his seat pronouncing he'll get off at Pakur so she can take his berth.
As it was once past due within the evening, the girl thanked him and lay down at the bunk. Soon, she felt she was once being groped and woke up with a start to see Hussain standing close to her. She warned him to stick away and attempted to sleep off.
Undeterred by her caution, the man groped her once once more, this time she slapped him. Stunned, the man punched her again, the police stated.
Hearing the commotion, her good friend standing close to the door and different passengers came to her rescue.
The passengers stuck cling of Hussain and the Railway Protection Force team of workers on board the educate were referred to as in.
