Greater Noida: Thefts on rise, maids and guards under scanner

GREATER NOIDA: Residents of Sector Pi I, where the home of an NTPC deputy common manager was burgled on Sunday afternoon, complained of rising cases of thefts within the space during the last few months.
The newest in a series of burglaries or tried thefts came about overdue on Sunday night when a group of guys arrived in an Alto and attempted to steal a Baleno parked outdoor an Air Force officer’s house in Sector Pi III.

A few days in the past, a gang had attempted to steal the tyres of a Ritz.

AK Tripathi, a warrant officer posted at the Indian Air Force station in Rajokri, stated that round 2.30am, his neighbour Sandeep Sharma noticed two individuals loitering outdoor.

“They had arrived in a white Alto, which they parked below a tree. One of them stood close to the automobile while every other concealed below a tree to check if someone was gazing. As canines started barking, Sandeep Sharma, who remains within the neighbourhood, woke up and shouted. They soon drove away within the Alto,” Tripathi stated.

The officer stated the thieves had attempted to break open the locks of the automobile and the doors had imprints of a pointy object.

A few days previous, two tyres of a Ritz belonging to YP Singh, a resident of the similar sector, had been stolen. “Many such thefts have taken place previously and maximum of them pass unreported. With the cases increasing through the day, the citizens are fascinated with their protection,” Tripathi stated.


On May 14, thieves had raided the home of an IAS officer, Vibha Chahal, after slicing the grilles of some of the windows and decamped with jewelry and cutlery value round Rs 7 lakh. CCTV footage confirmed 3 of the thieves — two masked and one unmasked — entering the home, positioned proper next to the place of dwelling of then SP (rural) Suniti.


A day previous, jewelry value round lakhs was stolen from the home of an NRI in AWHO Society of Kasna in large daylight. The outdoor unit of an air conditioner was stolen from the chamber of an advocate at the courtroom premises over a month in the past.


Police stated they had been investigating the cases and trying to find out if maids, guards, and so forth are involved. Amit Srivastava, circle officer, Greater Noida I, stated the gangs looked to be comprising locals. “Domestic is helping equivalent to maids, guards, and others appear to be helping the thieves. In some cases, they even habits a recce of the realm,” he stated.
