Is HD Kumaraswamy making Rahul Gandhi a scapegoat?

BENGALURU: Unusually for a non-Congress chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy has been heaping praise on Rahul Gandhi and, ever since he took the helm, has been in quest of the AICC president’s approval on major choices — be it the formation of the cabinet or the farm loan waiver.

Kumaraswamy also raked up a political storm not too long ago by means of stating he is obligated to the Congress and now not the 6.five crore other folks of the state. The CM also openly claimed he is within the CM’s chair with the blessings of “punyayatma” (noble man) Rahul.

Kumaraswamy’s feedback and gestures have raised a lot of eyebrows. Political observers and some Congress leaders ponder whether the CM is trying to ‘cross the dollar' and put the onus of his running the federal government on the Congress, eventually making it a scapegoat, if issues don’t go to plan.

Off the report, senior Congress leaders have been relatively vocal. “HDK is in truth enjoying a highly intelligent sport,” stated a senior Congress chief aspiring for a plum portfolio within the cupboard. “He is shifting the whole onus to Rahul. If there's discontent over the formation of ministry or if the farm loan waiver isn't what he has promised, he will blame us for it.”

Another Congress chief stated: “This is arbitrary. He is the pinnacle of the federal government and is the biggest beneficiary of the agree with vote, so how can he wash his hands of the subject? As head of the federal government he should take duty instead of creating us a scapegoat for omissions and commissions. It is the habit of the chief minister to blame others.”

However, Congress spokesman V S Ugrappa, was extra certain, saying: “What is wrong in praising Rahul when the birthday party has scarified the CM’s publish simply to stay communal forces at bay? Many within the Congress are floored by means of CM’s humility and the glory for him has greater. By praising Rahul and Congress, Kumaraswamy could also be trying to send out a message to his birthday party staff to take care of peace and calmness at the local stage.”

Political analyst Sandeep Shastri stated the chief minister will have to take duty sooner or later.

“There are two tactics of looking at the CM’s gestures and statements,” Shastri stated. “One, it's a good expression of frustration and helplessness he studies at heading a central authority, courtesy the give a boost to of the Congress birthday party. When this anguish is constantly repeated in numerous tactics, it then loses its affect and commonplace other folks would more and more see it as an alibi to hide up for his inability to move forward. Second, coalitions are always a question of taking forward your companions. The CM reveals himself within the unenviable position of heading a coalition where the core club from his birthday party is critically restricted.”

Shastri went on so as to add: “While first of all one of these reaction may evoke sympathy, over the years other folks will question the CM that as the pinnacle of the federal government he must take duty as well as possession slightly than blame instances that he reveals himself in.”
