Mangaluru: Rainfall in Dakshina Kannada broke any other file with rainfall in June surpassing the cumulative moderate for the month through 35mm with four more days to move.
With this, the June month noticed two data being broken. The different was once rainfall exceeding the normal rainfall file for the first six months, through recording 59mm additional rainfall than what the district data from January to June through June 20 itself. As on June 26, the district within the first six months has won 300mm of extra rainfall.
The district recorded 82.5mm of rainfall within the last 24 hours from eight.30am of Monday. Bantwal taluk won the perfect rainfall of 104mm, with Sullia aluk receiving the least at 49mm. Belthangady, Puttur and Mangaluru taluks won 88mm, 78 and 98mm of rainfall, respectively. Last year, the district had won just right rainfall at 90mm at the same day.
Till June 26, the district won 1,476mm of rainfall, 300 mm greater than what it typically receives in six months. Last year, the district won 886mm within the first six months.
Of the 5 taluks, Mangaluru taluk won the perfect rainfall at 1,663mm within the first six months – due to the May 29 deluge which recorded over 280mm of rainfall on a unmarried day. With the six month customary rainfall for Mangaluru taluk being 1,248mm, the taluk has won 415mm of extra rainfall. Last year the six month rainfall was once 833mm.
The different taluks also won just right rainfall with Sullia receiving the least 1,285mm of rainfall, which is 270mm greater than the normal six-month rainfall for Sullia taluk.
The water level in Nethravathi River at Bantwal was once 4.4 metres with risk level being eight.5 metres. The water level of Nethravathi River at Uppinangady and Kumaradhara River have been neatly below risk levels at 18 metres every with risk levels being 28.5 metres and 29.5 metres, respectively.
