HYDERABAD: An afternoon after the arrest of Pakistani nationwide Mohammed Usman Ikram, three persons, including a lecturer, had been arrested from Karimnagar for facilitating him to get forged schooling certificate. After the arrest of the trio, Central Crime Station (CCS) officers got here to grasp that they had been running an organised racket and could have sold thousands of schooling certificate via fraudulent way.
On Friday, Ikram, who used to be illegally staying in India, used to be arrested for threatening to add non-public video of his step-daughter on social media. He used to be in ownership of an illegally bought Indian passport and schooling certificate. Searching for his 2nd spouse, a 35-year-old divorcee from Hyderabad, Ikram crossed the Indo-Nepal border illegally and reached town.
CCS officers said lecturer Maqsood Ahmed and his mates Syed Badaruzzama Kirmani and Mohammed Khaja Nizam had been arrested from Karimnagar according to Ikram’s confession. Later within the day, they had been produced in a local court in Hyderabad.
Mohammed Maqsood Ahmed, a lecturer at Trinity College, Karimnagar, used to be an agent and used to provide faux or unique certificate of different universities for a value. Kirmani and Khaja had been mediators and would refer applicants to Maqsood Ahmed for a fee.
During investigation, CCS officers recovered a diary from Maqsood Ahmed wherein he made entries of persons to whom he had equipped schooling certificate since 2014. “Maqsood Ahmed with the help of Kirmani and Khaja had provided the faux/ forged tutorial certificate to the arrested Pakistani nationwide Usman Ikram,” deputy commissioner of police (CCS) Avinash Mohanty said in an official free up issued on Saturday.
CCS officers said they might examine whether or not there used to be any nexus between Maqsood Ahmed and group of workers of a few universities. “We will try to trace each the insiders within the universities who're a part of the racket but even so the scholars who bought these certificate from these accused.
