PUNE: The Shivajinagar police arrested a 26-year-old man from Ghorpade Peth for dousing his wife in petrol and attempting to set her ablaze right in entrance of the circle of relatives courtroom in Shivajinagar on Tuesday afternoon.
The couple has been engaged in ongoing domestic disputes and the girl has sought a proper divorce from the person. She additionally needs alimony from him, and had come to the circle of relatives courtroom when it comes to the case.
Senior inspector Prabhakar Shinde stated the girl lodged a complaint with the Shivajinagar police station on Tuesday night time.
The woman had earlier filed a number of circumstances against her husband - accusing him of harassment and rape - with the Wanowrie police station, he added.
Shinde stated the girl claimed that her husband had brought alongside some petrol in a bottle and he doused her within the inflammable liquid in entrance of the circle of relatives courtroom's entrance.

"Despite the eyewitnesses, police have decided to get the CCTV footage from the different establishments located in the area to investigate the case. Some eyewitnesses, and even lawyers, have given a different account of the events from what the woman told the police," Shinde stated.
