NOIDA: Nearly 70 quintal fish died of alleged poisoning in a local pond in Cholas village in Jarcha on Thursday afternoon. An FIR has been registered towards eight individuals.
Krishna Kumar Rana, SHO, Jarcha police station, said one Bahadur Ali owns the four-acre pond within the village. “Ali was thinking about fish farming within the pond. He said within the afternoon that he saw quite a few fish floating within the water and suspected foul play. He found that all the fish had died due to consuming poison,” he said.
Ali’s spouse is the Cholas village pradhan and the circle of relatives suspected non-public enmity at the back of the crime. He filed a grievance towards his neighbours Saqib Raza, Amir Raza and six different individuals for allegedly poisoning the fish to dying. He is making an attempt to determine the full loss.
Later a police crew reached the spot to investigate the matter. The fish samples have been sent to a veterinary clinic for forensic examination and stories are awaited. Rana said the motive has no longer been ascertained. tnn
