CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Okay Palaniswami on Monday mentioned the Tuticorin police are arresting only the ones individuals who indulged in arson and violence on May 22.
Speaking in the assembly, he noted that Tamil Nadu "is the only state witnessing large number of protests in the country" and "protection is given to the people to such an extent".
Palaniswami mentioned permission and coverage is given to authentic protestors who need to serve the folk or safe their rights from the government.
He mentioned there are sufficient photographic proof about anti-social parts throwing petrol bombs, environment vehicles on hearth and carrying logs all the way through the May 22 protests by means of the anti-Sterlite Copper smelter plant movement participants in Tuticorin.
"We are showing such persons as anti-social elements and not the general public," Palaniswami mentioned.
