Pall of gloom descends on martyrs native village in Fatehpur

KANPUR: A pall of gloom descended on the local village of BSF (Border Security Force) jawan Vijay Kumar Pandey, who was killed following firing through Pakistani Rangers on Saturday evening.

The family members of the martyr were inconsolable.

Locals of Sathigawan village in Fatehpur reached the martyr's area on Sunday and attempted to console Vijay's family members. Vijay's marriage was fastened for June 20 and he was supposed to reach village through June 5, family members stated.

"We had fixed his marriage for June 20. His 'Tilak' ceremony was scheduled for June 15 and we all were making preparations. But Sunday morning, we came to know of the sad news. We are shattered," stated Savita Devi, martyr's mother.

Vijay studied on the Adarsh Inter school, within the close by Salehpur village. His lecturers from the school stated that he was a excellent pupil, and at all times used to dream of serving the country.

Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and state minister Jai Kumar additionally visited the jawan's home and presented condolences.
