BENGALURU: A 30-year-old electrician was once allegedly caught peeping into the bathroom of an IIMB girls’ hostel right here on Saturday evening and passed over to Mico Layout police.
Police mentioned Girish, a resident of Mico Layout, was once arrested following a grievance via a 27-year-old IIMB student and released on bail after an inquiry. They registered a case of voyeurism beneath IPC Section 354C.
Girish were summoned to fix a misguided geyser in N Block of IIMB hostel at Vijaya Bank Layout. He completed the repairs round 8pm in an upper-floor rest room and while getting down, peeped into another rest room at the fourth surface where a girl student was once bathing.
When the woman spotted a stranger peering during the window, she screamed. Her hostelmates rushed to the spot and nabbed Girish. He instructed police he had not committed any offence as he was once only climbing down the steps after completing his work and peeped into the bathroom to check if there was once any drawback.
“He could have entered the room along side safety body of workers. But he didn’t do that and as an alternative peeped into the bathroom. The scared student filed a grievance,” a police officer mentioned.
Police mentioned they've slapped a case of voyeurism and not trespassing as Girish had entered the premises with permission.
