Residents throw ragi mudde challenge to CM

BENGALURU: While the fitness problem #HumFitTohIndiaFit is trending with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself difficult bureaucrats and other personalities, citizens of Kurubarahalli, west Bengaluru, have hurled a ragi mudde (ragi ball) problem at leader minister HD Kumaraswamy and considered one of his cupboard contributors.

Upset over provide of worm-infested, substandard ragi at ration shops underneath the Anna Bhagya scheme, the citizens have dared Kumaraswamy and food and civil supplies minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan to cook ragi mudde using the similar ragi and consume it. On Thursday, the citizens couriered parcels of ragi to the CM and Zameer’s homes.

Sunanda, a resident of JC Nagar, stated the ragi provided underneath Anna Bhagya is not fit to be eaten. “Usually, ahead of use, the ragi is cleaned. But on Wednesday after I started cleansing it, bugs crawled out. I took it to a poultry farm and dumped it there in order that it may well be used to feed chickens. But even the farm workforce refused to take it, saying it used to be of unhealthy quality. We are being distributed ragi which can not even be fed to chickens.”

Paramesh, a resident of Kurubarahalli, stated the ragi is of sub-standard quality and is filled with bugs. “One can not consume food made from it. We have couriered ragi parcels to the CM and the food and civil supplies minister in order that they realize what we get from the federal government. If they are able to consume the food cooked from this ragi, we're able to consume it as smartly,” he stated.

Under the Anna Bhagya scheme, the state executive supplies 15kg rice and 5kg ragi to each and every BPL card holder within the state.

However, food and civil supplies department officers were given wind of the advance, rushed to the area and assured citizens that higher quality ragi can be provided.
