CHENNAI: Incensed kinfolk of 2 other folks robbed at knifepoint by way of 15 males lynched the 24-year-old gang chief at Sathyavedu on the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border on Wednesday evening, the police said. While six of the gang have been passed over to the police, 8 controlled to flee. Two of the gang have been arrested on Thursday.
The deceased guy, Raji, and 14 of his pals first targeted a pair going to a marriage reception.

Around 7.30pm, Anuradha and her husband Baskar of Vinyaka Nagar in Tirupati have been intercepted at Pudukuppam near Uthukottai by way of the gang members brandishing knives and the terrified Anuradha parted with 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery.
Minutes later, the gang snatched 6 sovereigns of gold from a lady trainer on her way to the similar reception.
Later, after the victims narrated their ordeal to kinfolk on the marriage ceremony hall, no less than 50 of them fastened motorcycles or got into vehicles and fanned out in search of the robbers. The crowd quickly controlled to corner Raji and 6 of his pals, whilst the others fled. The robbers who have been caught have been roundly thrashed before being passed over to the Sathyavedu police. A severely injured Raji used to be taken to a government clinic, where he died, a police officer said. Two more robbers have been arrested by way of police on Thursday.
Police said Raji is a resident of Red Hills, whilst many of his pals are from Andhra Pradesh. The police are looking for the rest members of the gang and registered a separate case for Raji’s loss of life. Relatives of the robbed couple claimed Raji died only after being passed over to police.
