AHMEDABAD: Three persons, together with one woman, suffered injuries after they confronted some 10 men who have been seeking to rob them, at Amrakunj Society in the Chandkheda house of the town in the wee hours of Monday.
Police lodged a criticism towards unknown persons and are gathering CCTV footage from the vicinity.
According to the complainant, P K Awasthi, an HR professional, the incident happened at 3am on Monday. Three unknown persons tried to break open their major gate. When he rebuked them, seven others rushed in and began pelting them with stones. Awasthi’s wife, Snehlata (47), and their son Akshil (18) suffered injuries.
Despite the sudden war of words, the robbers controlled to take hold of Snehlata’s gold chain, price Rs 30,000.
“I heard an explosion outside and awoke. I saw 4 men standing there. I began yelling at them. When I left the house, seven more persons rushed there and began pelting me with stones,” Awasthi told TOI.
“Some of the men began running against me and I began running outside. On hearing the commotion, my son got here out of the house and was attacked via the robbers. Three of the robbers entered my house and attacked my wife,” he added.
“Fortunately, there were some labourers outside the house and they got here to our rescue,” Awasthi said. He said the robbers would have killed him and his circle of relatives if the labourers had no longer safe them.
