BATHINDA: After a spate of auto thefts within the district, Bathinda police have busted two different gangs of auto lifters. The police have arrested 9 persons in two different circumstances in two days and feature recovered 19 stolen motorcycles and six scooters. The marketplace price of the recovered two-wheelers has been assessed at Rs 5 lakh. In each the circumstances, the arrested people are between 20 to 30 years of age and most of them are unemployed.
In the primary case, the police on Monday on a tip-off arrested Gagan Singh and Jagdeep Singh of village Kailey Wander, Hajit singh of Kotshamir and Gurpreet singh of Pakka Kalan. The 5th member of the group Mithu singh of village Rayia in Sirsa district of Haryana continues to be at massive. The four were arrested with stolen two stolen motorcycles from Jassi Chowk in Bathinda town.
The police recovered 3 motorcycles from the place of dwelling of Gurpreet singh and two stolen motorcycles from the place of dwelling of Gagan singh, stated Bathinda SP (town) Gurmeet Singh. All arrested were addicts and used to take medication after stealing motorcycles, he added.
In another case, the police on Tuesday arrested Gurpiar Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Gurdev Singh of village Fallad in Bathinda, Bhupinder Kumar and Happy Kumar of Bathinda town on two motorcycles and a scooter from near Mittal Mall at Bathinda. During investigations, the police recovered 2 scooters from the place of dwelling of Bhupinder Kumar, three from the place of dwelling of Happy Kumar, two motorcycles from the place of dwelling of Gurpiar Singh, three motorcycles from the place of dwelling of Gurdev singh and five motorcycles from the place of dwelling of Gupreet singh.
SP stated that in each the circumstances, the group individuals were energetic for nearly an year and their house of operation was once Bathinda town and within sight small cities. In some cases, they sold off the stolen automobiles after converting the registration numbers.
