CHENNAI: Two police constables who tried to dealer peace between a landlord and a tenant had been bashed up in Washermenpet on Thursday night.
Police stated U Chandra,55, had rented her area on Muthaiah Mestri Street to M Jamila, 58, around 12 years ago. Since the hire period was once over, Chandra asked Jamila and her circle of relatives to vacate but the latter refused to depart the home. A case in this regard is pending in civil court docket for greater than ten years.
On Thursday afternoon, Chandra asked Jamila to depart the home within a month. An argument broke out claiming and Jamila stated she would no longer leave the home till the court docket comes out with a verdict. When Chandra tried enter the home Jamila sought the help of her neighbours and family members.
Meanwhile, the police control room gained a call about the problem and two constables Nagendran, 35, and Praveen, 34, from the Washermenpet police station had been despatched.
