3 law students move NGT over Musi pollution

HYDERABAD: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday issued notices to the Centre and state government on a petition filed via three legislation scholars from the town in the hunt for conservation of the river Musi via cleaning its waters and putting off all encroachments on its bed.

27. This is the first time that a group of town scholars have taken up the river’s reason in the apex atmosphere court.

Nayeem informed TOI that they'd prayed prior to the NGT to direct the authorities concerned to handle the Musi from any contamination and loose from any encroachment. “Sewage treatment crops are put in. But they don't seem to be enough to deal with all the sewage generated in Hyderabad. We have also instructed the tribunal to direct the authorities to take all steps to revive the float of river,” he stated.


Environmentalist prof Okay Purushotham Reddy, who's guiding the young petitioners, informed TOI that the Musi had became a scorching bed of pollution starting from pharmaceutical to business and medical waste to domestic sewage. The rivers must be restored to its authentic glory, he added.
