GUWAHATI: The overall flood state of affairs in Assam deteriorated nowadays with nearly 50,000 other people reeling underneath the deluge in five districts of the state, a report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) stated on Wednesday.
According to the ASDMA, over 40,900 persons are affected at the present in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Barpeta, Dibrugarh and Karimganj districts.
Yesterday, nearly 26,000 other people were affected by the flood in the 3 districts of the state and 36 villages were underneath water.
As consistent with the ASDMA report issued, Lakhimpur is the worst affected with over 25,000 other people affected, adopted by means of Dhemaji with virtually 12,000 other people affected in the deluge.
The demise toll in the flood stood at 32 with no fresh casualty being reported.
Currently, 56 villages are underneath water and a pair of,729 hectares of crop spaces had been broken, the ASDMA stated.
The ASDMA stated government are running seven reduction camps and distribution centres, where 21 persons are taking shelter these days.
Currently, the Brahmaputra river at Nimatighat in Jorhat, Jia Bharali river at NT Road Crossing in Sonitpur and Puthimari at NH Road Crossing in Kamrup are flowing above the risk mark.
