Assam flood situation worsens, 51,000 hit

GUWAHATI: The flood scenario worsened on Friday with 51,000 people suffering from the flood with more districts in decrease Assam engulfed by way of the deluge on Friday. There has been no report of any recent casualty on Friday.
According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 51,402 people across 85 villages in Nalbari, Barpeta, Chirang, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and Majuli districts at the moment are hit by way of the deluge. About 45000 people have been suffering from the deluge till Thursday. A complete of three,743.30 hectare of croplands are still underwater.
