BENGALURU: Residents of Doddenakundi tied a 45-year-old guy to an electric pole and thrashed him, suspecting him to be a child-lifter, prior to handing him over to police on Saturday. The guy, Chandrakumar, is a resident of Assam.
As many as 22 other people have been lynched across the country at the basis of a pretend WhatsApp message about baby lifting.
Residents said they saw Chandrakumar roaming suspiciously and one couple said he attempted to abduct their baby. Police are probing the allegations.
