NEW DELHI: West Bengal leader minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday asked Union house minister Rajnath Singh to elucidate whether or not the Centre intends to carry out an workout very similar to NRC-Assam in her state.

Later, the house minister issued a observation declaring that the draft NRC were ready in line with the provisions of Assam Accord and beneath the monitoring of the Supreme Court.
"I told her that the draft NRC had been published in accordance with the provisions of Assam Accord and as per decisions taken in a tripartite meeting on February 05, 2005 between the Centre, State Government of Assam and All Assam Students Union to update NRC, 1951," Singh said in the observation.
Singh had also added that he had informed Banerjee that the NRC updation workout was being performed in a "totally fair, transparent, non discriminatory and legal manner".
Nobody shall be confused in this entire procedure and at every level of the method, adequate alternative of being heard shall be given to all individuals, he said.
The ruling BJP has rejected Banerjee's complaint, pronouncing she saw unlawful immigrants as a vote bank, whilst it was extra concerned about the security of the country and rights of its citizen.
Addressing a press convention, BJP leader Amit Shah also condemned Banerjee for her caution that there might be civil warfare and bloodbath, pronouncing the country was divided once in the title of civil warfare.
"She should clarify what kind of civil war she is talking about," he said.
