GUWAHATI: The flood situation worsened in Assam on Thursday, with around 45,000 other people from seven districts coming below the grip of the deluge. Chirang and Kokrajhar districts in western Assam and the island district of Majuli were hit by floods on Thursday, whilst Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Barpeta and Dibrugarh are the other districts reeling from floods since Wednesday.

"Her slippers were found beside a stream," a police source mentioned.
