Inter-state grain racket busted, lens on Sena neta’s kin

AURANGABAD: The Nanded police have busted an inter-state racket interested in unlawful diversion of grains from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to a personal corporate. Ten other people had been arrested.


The police gained a tip-off in regards to the alleged siphoning of grains, that have been supposed to be dispensed during the public distribution machine to the poor and marginalised sections of society via honest value shops.


The raid, which began on Wednesday morning, lasted until overdue Thursday. The police seized 10 trucks carrying FCI wheat from a food park within the Krushnur house of Nanded district. They also discovered over 6,000 bags of wheat belonging to Punjab, MP and Maharashtra governments stashed somewhere else in a godown on the premises of a mega agro-processing corporate within the food park.


The food park, spread over 50 acres, is owned by means of the son-in-law of a sitting Shiv Sena MLA. Acase has been registered in opposition to the owner of the corporate, its supervisor, transporters and others underneath sections 420 (cheating) and 120 B (felony conspiracy) of the IPC. The police arrested 10 truck drivers, who have been remanded in magisterial custody. The police mentioned the food park owner and supervisor have been on the run.
