Mansi settles for silver, Swati claims bronze at Junior Asian Wrestling

NEW DELHI: Indian wrestler Mansi settled for a silver medal after being outplayed in the 57kg category last by way of Japan's Akie Hanai and Swati Shinde claimed a bronze on the Junior Asian Wrestling Championship on Friday.

Mansi had received her two bouts in dominant style, winning by way of technical superiority towards Nadia Narin (10-0) and Zhanerka Assanova (11-0).

However, she may just no longer proceed with her just right form in the last towards the awesome Japanese, who claimed gold, winning the overall by way of technical superiority.


Swati with ease received towards Thailand's Duangnapa Boonyasu by way of technical superiority (10-0) to claim the bronze in the 53kg category. She had misplaced her semi-final 0-6 to China's Yuhong Zhong, a defeat by way of fall.


In her quarter-final, she beat Uzbekistan's Shakhodat Djullibaeva.


However, Anshu misplaced her bronze medal bout to China's Xinyuan Sun 2-Four in the 62kg category and Tina misplaced her bronze match in the 65kg category, outplayed 1-Eight to Mongolia's Delgermaa Enkhsaikhan.


Also missing out on a bronze was once Sonika Hooda, losing 3-5 to Taipei's Hui Tsz Chang.
