University denies it got rid of 11 contract workers for over factor

Some individuals of the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) have claimed that the college is trying to stay beneath wraps a marks-tampering racket that it has stumbled upon.

This comes after the termination of contracts of 11 workers running with the exam phase of the college. University officials have denied the allegation that they've been got rid of from service for marks-tampering.

Highly placed resources from the college, then again, told Bangalore Mirror that there were complaints and suspicions round these contract workers’ actions, which is why the college made up our minds to not renew their services.

Though officials deny there has been any tampering of marks, the query of why their contracts were terminated still stays. Several Executive Council (EC) individuals too got data on the alleged tampering of marks. A member stated, “The truth of the allegation must be made up our minds via an inner or external inquiry. As in line with the act and statues of VTU, without the nod of the Executive Council, the college has no powers to droop or remove any employee. What was once the hurry to take away the ones workers?”
Prof Jagannath Reddy, registrar of VTU, denied the allegation. “This is solely propaganda. These people within the information entry phase were on brief appointment. We were not glad with the paintings so we terminated their contracts. We don’t require the EC’s permission to do that. They are contract workers and we can terminate their services whenever we wish.”
