BENGALURU: A visibly riled-up chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday, after presenting his maiden budget and announcement of a farm loan waiver, took on the opposition BJP head-on for his or her statements mentioning the state budget was once a “Hassan budget” and no longer pan-Karnataka.
“If the BJP is sad and claims it's unfair for the budget to be focusing on Hassan, let them go back the Rs 30 crore allocated for Hassan outer ring road. Afterall, it is a BJP MLA who has been elected from Hassan town. Let him go back it,” he attacked.
The CM admitted that Hassan and Mandya districts have gained Rs 150 to Rs 200 crore in the state budget on Thursday.
“But north Karnataka and coastal districts were given really extensive allocations from the February 18-19 budget of former CM Siddaramaiah. And I've already clarified that the schemes announced through the former CM will probably be endured,” he stated.
He stated the BJP was once deliberately trying to stoke fire in the society through claiming there was a lopsided allocation for districts in the new budget.
“I urge the folks of coastal and north Karnataka not to give any importance to the BJP false claims and have faith in the coalition government,” he stated.

Known for his calm demeanour, Kumaraswamy all the way through his presser was once competitive in his communicate and “shamed” the BJP for being unable to protected a “unmarried paisa” towards farm loan waiver.
“We have today waived of Rs 34,000 crore of farmer loans. Nimma yogyathe ge (Shamefully) you (BJP) may no longer even protected a unmarried paisa for the loan waiver from the centre. We aren't waiting for PM Modi or any person else to help us and have performed what was once promised,” he stated.
Kumaraswamy stated he had even approached the centre, inquiring for respite, but was once met with stoic responses and nothing more.
“I requested for Rs 20,000 crore to be diverted towards the farm loan waiver, from the Rs 2 lakh crore infusion of the centre into the banking device. But there was once no response. The BJP may no longer even get a unmarried paise from the centre,” alleged Kumaraswamy.
On the spike in the petrol and diesel costs, Kumaraswamy justified that the government required to generate an extra fund of Rs 6,500 crore towards the primary year of loan waiver instalment.
“Now, like former CM Yeddyurappa had stated on the flooring of the home in 2009, I or Parameshwara should not have observe printing machines at home. And neither has the centre given powers to me or the DyCM to print notes and waive the loans. Within the practical ambit of the government, we need to generate income for farm loan waivers,” he stated.
