MANGALURU: Lakshmivara Teertha Swami of Shiroor Mutt in Udupi died due to suspected food poisoning on Thursday morning here.
He was admitted to the ICU of KMC, Manipal on Wednesday night after suspected food poisoning.
According to mutt sources, he complained of severe stomachache after attending a Vanamahotsava programme on Monday. He, on the other hand, ignored it and didn’t take correct medicine, which ended in excessive vomiting. He was later rushed to KMC. Doctors said the swamiji had food poisoning.
