MUMBAI: The Mumbai police arrested the kingpin of a global child trafficking racket that allegedly despatched a minimum of 300 kids from India to america. Rajubhai Gamlewala aka Rajubhai, a Gujarat resident, began the racket in 2007 and would charge Rs 45 lakh for every child from his US-based clients. The fate of the trafficked kids isn't yet transparent. Some participants of the racket had been arrested in March.

The kids, elderly 11-16, got here from deficient households, usually in Gujarat. “Finding it tough to take care of them, their parents or guardians would promote them,” stated a police officer. Police stated after receiving an order from clients in america, Gamlewala, 50, would instruct his gang to find a deficient family, usually in Gujarat, keen to promote a child. The racket was busted in March when actor Preeti Sood won a call from a pal that two minors had been being implemented makeup at a Versova salon. “I went there on a suspicion that the women had been being readied for brothels. But as soon as there, I realised that the racket was bigger than I thought,” she told TOI on Wednesday. She stated she found 3 males teaching the personnel on the right way to follow makeup on two minors.


“When I requested, the lads claimed they had been sending the children to their parents in america. I requested them to accompany me to the police station, however they refused. I controlled to forestall two of the lads and referred to as the police. Meanwhile, the 3rd escaped with the women,” Sood stated. Sood got 4 males arrested through the police, together with a retired sub-inspector’s son.


The 4 are Amir Khan (26; the policeman’s son), Tajuddin Khan (48), Afzal Shaikh (35) and Rizwan Chotani (39).
