Google is celebrating India's 72nd Independence Day with a Doodle dedicated to 'truck art'- commonplace motifs seen on cars on Indian roads.
The Doodle, Google writes, used to be impressed through “Indian truck art, a long-standing tradition on this 4 million sq. kilometre nation where truckers who live to tell the tale the road surround themselves with cheerful folk art to occupy their minds all over long months away from their households”.
It's designed with icons in most cases seen on this art form, and intently associated with 'Indian-ness.' Tiger- the national animal, peacock- the national chicken, and lotus- the national flower are all jostling for position with elephant, some of the maximum commonplace wild animal in Indian forests, and mango, the fruit that dominates Indian summers. The lemon-and-chilli combo strung in combination in a thread, regularly seen in service provider establishments, isn't neglected both.
