Government extends deadline for filing July GSTR-3B

NEW DELHI: The government has extended the ultimate date of submitting GST summary sales returns or GSTR-3B for the month of July to August 24.

"Last date of filing GSTR-3B for the month of July, 2018 has been extended to August 24, 2018," an professional observation stated. The earlier due date used to be August 20.

"In order to facilitate filing of easy GST returns, Govt. has extended the due date of filing GSTR-3B return to 24th August 2018. We are committed to ensuring that GST is a Good and Simple Tax," Union minister Piyush Goyal stated in a tweet.



Due to flood situation in Kerala, he added that the GST returns for the month of July can now be filed by means of October 5 and the returns for the month of August can now be filed by means of October 10 in the state.




"There were instances of technical glitches faced on August 20 in filing the return, which was the last date for submission of GSTR 3B. It's good that more time has been given for filing," stated Pratik Jain, Partner and Leader, Indirect Tax, PwC.


GST collections rose to Rs 96,483 crore in July from Rs 95,610 crore mopped up in the previous month.
