Indian flag hoisted at Asiad Village on Independence Day

JAKARTA/PALEMBANG: The Indian flag was hoisted by means of participants of the Indian contingent on the Athletes Village of the Asian Games in each Jakarta and Palembang, marking the rustic's 72nd Independence Day.

In Palembang, deputy Chef de Mission Balbir Singh Kushwaha hoisted the tricolour at a easy ceremony which was attended by means of around 25 athletes, most commonly shooters and rowers.

Yassir Arafat, the Asian Games International Relationship & Protocoller (IR & P) Coordinator in Palembang, was invited as the manager visitor of the ceremony.



In Jakarta too, the Indian flag was hoisted at a easy ceremony on the Games Village with athletes and officials attending it.


The males's and ladies's handball groups are already there within the Village in Jakarta since their competitions have started before the opening ceremony on August 18.


The males's and ladies's hockey groups landed on Wednesday whilst the boxers are expected to reach Jakarta on Thursday.


"Happy Independence Day !!! ...sending you all Independence Day wishes from Jakarta," males's hockey crew captain PR Sreejesh tweeted after achieving Jakarta.
