Listen to defence mantri, not to those who didn’t get jobs: Amit Shah

NEW DELHI: In a veiled assault on former birthday celebration leaders Yashwant Sinha and Arun Shourie, BJP president Amit Shah on Friday said the defence minister’s commentary at the Rafale deal will have to be given credence and now not the feedback of those “who did not get jobs”.

Shah said defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said the bottom value of Rafale fighters negotiated by the Modi govt was lower than what was finalised by the UPA and the government had already clarified at the matter following the opposition’s charges. He was speaking after releasing a guide, ‘Blueprint for an Economic Miracle’ authored by Pradeep Gupta, CMD of Axis My India.

“Will you give credence to the defence minister’s commentary or those who did not get jobs?” Shah said when asked about allegations of scam in the Rafale deal levelled by Shourie and Sinha, each ministers in the NDA govt headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and activist-lawyer Prashant Bhushan.

BJP leaders have ceaselessly hinted that relentless attacks by Shourie and Sinha at the Modi govt over more than a few problems were because that they had been sidelined. Shah said the BJP would go back to energy in 2019 with a larger mandate than 2014.

“People have already made up their thoughts. We have no doubt about it,” he said. He also rejected ideas that some BJP’s allies weren't happy with the birthday celebration and said all NDA constituents were together.

He referred to NDA’s choice to box JD(U) leader Harivansh for the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman’s put up to make his level. For the first time in over 4 a long time, the put up had long past outside the principle birthday celebration in the govt, he said.
