NEW DELHI: A piece of Air India pilots have advised they'll stop flying except the airline instantly will pay their flying allowance. The airline had this Tuesday paid the fundamental salaries of July. But for pilots, basic wage represents 30% of their overall pay and flying allowance is the main part.

AI is looking forward to fairness infusion from the government. It has to do loan servicing within the next fortnight for which over Rs 500 crore is required and failure to pay that will result in a default.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, who was additionally appointed with Deveshwar to AI board earlier this month may now not attend the meeting as he's reportedly in another country.
