The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh stated it agreed with the Supreme Court verdict that same-sex family members weren't against the law but added that homosexuality was once now not standard and needed to be addressed on the social and psychological ranges.
Reacting to the judgment, RSS media leader Arun Kumar stated same-sex marriages "are not compatible with norms of nature, so we do not support such relations". He stated conventional Indian society did not recognise such family members. A cautious BJP did not factor any statement at the verdict.
Law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad stated the federal government's affidavit in the SC, which said that it will now not oppose pleas challenging Section 377 on same-sex family members between consenting adults, was once well thought out.
