CAIRO: Egyptian officials say security forces have killed 11 males armed with attack rifles in a firefight that started throughout a morning time raid on a wilderness cave south of Cairo.
The officials say the lads killed Wednesday have been in possession of guns and ammunition, together with explosives, within the Western Desert close to the Farafra despair, and had deliberate "hostile operations." The house is close to the town of Assiut, some 320 kilometers, or 200 miles, from Cairo.
The officials weren't recognized of their statement however spoke anonymously below government regulations.
Egypt introduced a national operation against militants in February. It has struggled to battle a long-running insurgency within the Sinai Peninsula that is now affiliated with the Islamic State team, and which has also carried out attacks at the mainland.
