PANAJI: The NDA govt should promulgate an ordinance if it sought after to ensure that Goa mining business resumes operations as quickly as imaginable, stated Goa Forward Party President and Town and nation planning minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday.


Sardesai met a delegation from Goa Mining People’s Front and he assured them that he would absorb the problem when he meets union minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu on October 27 in Delhi.


Iron ore mining has come to a grinding halt in the state since March 15 after the Supreme Court cancelled the mining licenses issued by the directorate of mines and geology.


“I can be going to Delhi that point I can meet union commerce minister Suresh Prabhu, who's member of Group of Ministers. I can ask him to clear the place the file is caught. If required I can call the mining dependents to Delhi,” Sardesai stated. The minister stated that the delay in resolving the mining sector’s problems used to be comparable to “taking part in volleyball” with folks’s lives.


A delegation of Goa Mining People’s Front led by Puti Gaonkar known as on Sardesai and requested him to interfere and make sure the resumption of Goa’s mining business.
