SRINAGAR: Security forces allegedly thrashed some media group of workers who have been covering an encounter with terrorists within the city right here, a journalist present at the spot said on Wednesday.
Though the police refused to comment at the alleged incident, a PTI photojournalist present there gave a first-hand account.
There have been a number of media group of workers who have been covering the encounter when some police group of workers asked them to depart, he said.
However, the media group of workers stood their ground, leading to an altercation between 3-4 scribes and police, following which they allegedly thrashed 3 journalists.
The Kashmir Press Club (KPC) condemned the incident, alleging that probably the most journalists have been injured within the safety forces action.
The KPC expressed surprise over the behaviour of the safety forces and hoped that the state management will take into account of the incident and act accordingly.
Three terrorists and a policeman have been killed all through the encounter between ultras and safety forces within the city on Wednesday.
