BSF Commandant Sudeep Kumar greeted his Pakistan counterpart by means of giving a box of chocolates, the gesture was once reciprocated by means of Rangers officers.

Exchange of chocolates is a traditional apply performed by means of BSF and Pak Rangers on various spiritual and nationwide occasions together with Independent Day and Republic Day to care for solidarity on the border and for coordination between two forces for higher border control.

The friendlier gesture, on the other hand, involves a halt when pressure mounts between two countries.

In 2016 there was once no exchange of chocolates on the occasion of Diwali but the gesture was once resumed in 2017.

Exchange of chocolates takes position on all of the three major world border posts of Attari, Hussaniwala, and Sadqi in Punjab.

The chocolates international relations could also be an indication of the present state of family members between the two international locations.
