CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday urged the Union railways minister Piyush Goyal to build an elevated railway monitor at Narwana-Kurukshetra Railway Line in Kaithal, like in Rohtak, as an alternative of constructing three railway over bridges (ROB) or railway beneath bridges (RUB).
The elevated rail monitor in Rohtak is the first of its kind within the country.
In a letter addressed to the Union railways minister, Khattar mentioned that three important roads particularly Kaithal-Karnal state highway No-Eight, cirucular road Kaithal round Kaithal the city and Thanesar-Dhand-Kaithal road pass the Narwana-Kurukshetra railway line in Kaithal the city.
These stage crossings qualify for the development of ROBs/RUBs. He mentioned that as these stage crossings are positioned in congested spaces with substantial traffic motion, development of ROBs or RUBs would now not be feasible. Elevating the railway monitor would make a lot more economic sense, he added. The chief minister confident the Union minister that Haryana govt would endure 50% of the price.
