Free library for civil service aspirants in Belagavi

BELAGAVI: Students from weaker sections in the town who can't afford the fees of coaching and buying books for competitive examinations like UPSC and KPSC can now heave a sigh of aid.

The Academy of Comparative Philosophy and Religion (ACPR) in affiliation with Rotary Club of Belgaum launched ‘Rotary Study Centre’ an unique library at the premises of Shri Gurudev Ranade Mandir at Hindwadi right here on Wednesday.


The knowledge hub for competitive tests was once inaugurated by way of businesman and former MP Vijay Sankeshwar in the presence of Belagavi (North) MLA Anil Benake. The free library has a wide range of books required for getting ready civil carrier tests. Sankeshwar said reading addiction amongst youths was once regularly diminishing, adding that it was once no longer a just right sign. “Parents are similarly answerable for this dangerous construction, who confine kids to college texts just to cause them to score extra marks. “I have discovered that the newspaper is a demise industry with reading addiction is happening. Already many per month and weekly magazines have stopped. However, I have noticed that the reading culture remains to be alive amongst Marathi linguistics,” he said.


ACPR secretary Maruti Zirali said, “We have approached 25-30 current and retired IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and KAS officials to share their knowledge with scholars and maximum of them have agreed.” Over 155 scholars had been registered with the centre to this point, he added.


Rotary Club of Belagavi president Mukund Udchankar and ACPR president Ashok Potdar also spoke on the programme.
