BENGALURU: Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks towards the farm loan waiver scheme of Karnataka's coalition executive unfortunate, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday reeled out figures to defend it.
"The Prime Minister's remarks on our loan waiver is incorrect and unfortunate," said Kumaraswamy in a observation his administrative center issued here.

"The farmers want attention. But those in power in Karnataka are steeped in arrogance. The common man wants development, but those in power want only development of a dynasty. People want corruption-free development, but the state government wants development-free corruption," Modi said in English at the occasion.
Reiterating that crop loan waiver used to be the state executive's dedication to safeguard the interests of the farmers around the state, which began the method, the Chief Minister's observation said it used to be very sad that Modi had termed the scheme as a merciless comic story on farmers, which quantities to misleading the folks without info about the scheme.

Lauding the officials for enforcing the scheme expeditiously, the manager minister said Modi's remarks towards the loan waiver used to be now not expected.
"In spite of several requests, though the central government did not come to the rescue of our farmers, the Prime Minister's remarks demean our efforts for political gain," the Chief Minister lamented.
