Ahmedabad/Rajkot: Even because the Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industries prepares for an enormous protest rally on December 7, Deendayal Port Trust (formerly Kandla port) chairman Sanjay Bhatia has assured the stakeholders of thrashing out workable answers to their grievances bearing on the conversion of leasehold land to freehold.
Talking to TOI, Bhatia stated, “Over the ultimate Four-5 months, I have sympathetically regarded as the issues and now we have resolved majority of the 5 grievances which have been raised by the business body. A workforce of Indian Ports Association (IPA) has been operating on the problems which are very explicit to Kandla for the past one-and-a-half month and they will give the recommendations within the next 10 days.”
Referring to the mortgage price issue, the DPT chairman stated the costs for township land shall be made nominal and a suggestion on this regard shall be moved in board meeting scheduled on December 14. The mortgage price is being charged by the entire major ports according to the land coverage guidelines issued by the government with a ceiling of one% on the loan quantity or land value.
Talking about the land conversion issue, Bhatia stated that DPT has already written to the Gujarat chief secretary asking the government to arrange a city survey place of work in Gandhidham so that the mutations within the revenue information are entered once the conveyance deed is registered. “However, DPT will take the accountability of the freehold spaces until this place of work is ready up so that other folks aren't left within the lurch,” he added.
The issue of transfer price is also being looked into by the IPA workforce and knowledgeable committee has been formed to check and counsel an answer. “We made the transfer frees extra cheap in Maharashtra and equivalent efforts are being done for Kandla,” he stated.
Bhatia also stated that the proposal for conversion of industrial and business plots into freehold will also be positioned sooner than the board and despatched to the delivery ministry for attention.
“We are considering the entire problems sympathetically and critically operating to address the grievances,” the chairman stated, urging GCCI to not pass ahead with their agitation.
Meanwhile, Kandla Port Welfare Association normal secretary Nitin Shah stated that they've postponed their plan to move on one-day mass go away on December 6.
