Factory fire victims' kin refuse to cremate bodies

BARNALA: Relatives of the three persons, who had died in a hearth at a foam manufacturing unit at Ugoke village close to Barnala on Tuesday, have declined to cremate the bodies till the following of the kin have been equipped repayment of Rs 20 lakh each and task to some of the family members.

Families of the deceased and farm organisation activists on Wednesday began a protest at the manufacturing unit premises and denied their consent to habits post mortem examinations. Sadhu Singh, Sikandar Singh of Cheema village and Jagjit Singh of Gill Kothe village close to Barnala had died within the fire that broke out within the manufacturing unit on Tuesday. The protesters are also challenging arrest of the manufacturing unit homeowners. Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday evening had announced repayment of Rs 1 lakh each, which the families have rejected.

Mortal stays of the three manufacturing unit employees were saved at Barnala civil clinic. Sadhu Singh’s father Baldev Singh sand Sikandar Singh’s father Bhola Singh stated, “Our sons have been operating sincerely at the manufacturing unit when the fireplace broke out. We want that the manufacturing unit homeowners must be booked for murder and must be arrested for no longer making right kind preparations of fire preventing on the manufacturing unit premises. They had saved fuel cylinders that had intensified the blaze.”


Farmer organisation BKU Dakonda activist Bukkan Singh stated, “The three youths died because of extremely negligent act. The state government or the manufacturing unit homeowners must provide Rs. 20 lakh as repayment to each of the bereaved families in conjunction with a task to some of the individuals from each circle of relatives.”


Barnala deputy commissioner Dharampal Gupta stated, “The bereaved families have met me and sought repayment. I can absorb the topic with the state government. The management can even make the manufacturing unit homeowners duly compensate the kin of the deceased. The management is attempting to be successful upon the families to offer consent for post mortem exam.”


Barnala senior superintendent of police (SSP) Harjit Singh stated a case had already been registered towards four companions of the manufacturing unit below charges of culpable homicide no longer amounting to murder and negligent habits with recognize to fireside or combustible topic. “The police and the management is attempting to get the repayment from manufacturing unit homeowners and if topic isn't sorted out those booked will be arrested.”
