Jasdan all set to vote as campaigning ends

RAJKOT: The election campaign for the crucial Jasdan assembly by-election ended on Tuesday evening.
The highlight of the ultimate day of electioneering was a public amassing addressed via Congress’s superstar campaigner Navjot Singh Sidhu who described demonetisation as the largest scam of BJP-led NDA govt. “The largest sum of money found after demonetisation was in two cooperative banks of Gujarat,” Siddhu alleged.

Though BJP had submitted an inventory of its superstar campaigners, maximum of them didn't turn up. Even chief minister Vijay Rupani didn't cope with a single rally to garner improve for Congress turncoat Kunvarji Bavaliya, a five-time MLA from Jasdan.

Bavalia, who had won 2017 assembly election from Jasdan on Congress price ticket, resigned to sign up for BJP and was right away made the minister.

Congress has given the price ticket to Avsar Nakia, the campaign manager for Bavaliya for several years.

There are 2.32 lakh citizens on this constituency and the perfect 90,000 citizens are Kolis followed up Patidars who're around 45,000 and OBCs and Muslims to account for just about 45,000 votes.

Congress had given the campaign duty to MLAs Punja Vansh, Virji Thummar, Lalit Kagathra and Lalit Vasoya whilst BJP was banking on union minister Parshottam Rupala and state minister Jayesh Radadia.

Indranil Rajguru, who had contested against Rupani from Rajkot west constituency in 2017 assembly election and thereafter resigned from Congress, also campaigned for Nakia as a result of his outdated rivalry with Bavaliya.

In all, eight candidates are within the fray for the election that will be held on December 20.
