LUCKNOW: A crew of docs at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) gave a 26-year-old a chance to respire freely once more through appearing a sophisticated surgery to exchange a damaged windpipe.
The patient, a resident of Sonbhadra, was suffering from a condition called tracheal stenosis. In the scientific condition, a patient’s windpipe becomes narrower and leads to breathing issues.
The strategy of treatment is regarded as to be a sophisticated one because the windpipe is a delicate organ to operate on.
Dr Shailendra Yadav, who led the crew of surgeons throughout the operation, stated, “The patient was admitted at KGMU on December 22. He complained of extreme breathing distress as he was breathing thru a slender pipe.” Yadav stated that on investigating the docs came upon that he had tracheal stenosis.
“We operated on him on December 26. We cut his chest to succeed in the shrivelled windpipe and replace it with a brand new tube,” he added
The patient’s condition is now strong but he will have to come back to KGMU after six to eight weeks for a second surgery. The docs will operate at the upper part of the windpipe throughout the second one surgery. The patient had developed tracheal stenosis after he met with a highway coincidence a few years ago. He had sustained a serious head injury within the coincidence and was admitted in an ICU ward of a private scientific facility. He developed the scientific condition throughout the course of treatment.
Yadav stated that the patient paid Rs 50,000 for the treatment, which incorporated the surgery and the medications.
“The same process would have price him Rs Eight-10 lakh in a private scientific facility.”
The crew of docs which operated at the patient incorporated Dr Bhupendra, Dr Dhirendra, Dr Abhishek, Dr Ajay, Dr Sameeksha and Dr Raman with his crew of anaesthetists.
